Milwaukee Bucks: 5 free agents to target with veteran minimum – Kyle Korver
After spending one year with the Milwaukee Bucks, Kyle Korver will once again hit unrestricted free agency. Staying put with the Bucks on the veteran minimum makes plenty of sense for both sides as the 17-year veteran was a crucial part of Mike Budenholzer’s rotation this season.
Appearing in 58 regular-season games, Korver averaged 6.7 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from 3-point territory, serving his role as a floor spacer exceedingly well. After Milwaukee’s season ended, the 39-year-old Korver told The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears that he would discuss retirement with his family before deciding whether to come back or not.
Suppose he decides to hang it up, hats off to Korver on a fantastic career. On the other hand, if the soon to be 40-year-old decides that he still has some left to give, it should be with the Milwaukee Bucks. He may not be the Kyle Korver of old, but the guard provides the Bucks with vital floor spacing, something they desperately need surrounding two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Korver will not command a lucrative deal, and he is an easy fit in this system that lives with that “let it fly” mantra from downtown. He will not push the Bucks over the edge, but his veteran presence as well as his 3-point prowess unquestionably helps a Bucks team in need of sharpshooting.
