Milwaukee Bucks: 3 veteran forwards to target in free agency – Jeff Green

As the current state of Milwaukee’s frontcourt depth remains uncertain heading into the offseason, adding some size should unquestionably on their to-do list. Jeff Green is a name that previously got mentioned regarding targets that the Bucks should pursue with the veteran minimum, and the case still stands.

With Marvin Williams retiring at the end of the season, Ersan Ilyasova’s $7 million for next season not guaranteed, and Robin Lopez pondering his $5 million player option, Green could be a justifiable free agent option. His versatility on both ends of the court makes him an easy plug-in within Milwaukee’s system, and his experience as a 12-year-veteran fits the team’s win-now agenda.

Green had a stellar postseason run as a member of the Houston Rockets and helped propel them to the Western Conference Semifinals as a backup. In 12 contests, the 34-year-old averaged 11.6 points on .495/.426/.824 shooting splits while adding in 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania ($$) reported that Green’s valiant postseason effort is expected to have a handful of contenders in pursuit of him this offseason, and the Bucks should be among them. Depending on what kind of paycheck the 12-year-veteran is seeking from that potential interest around the league, Milwaukee should extend an offer his way to find some security in the frontcourt.
