Milwaukee Bucks: 3 threats to sign Pat Connaughton in free agency – Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls need to bolster their second unit this offseason, and Pat Connaughton could be a feasible option. As Luke Askew of Pippen Ain’t Easy put it:

"Pat Connaughton is a guy who could step in immediately, bring the experience he’s learned from Giannis and Co., and help the Bulls win games. Is he ever going to be a 20-point-per-game scorer? I doubt it. But he doesn’t need to be. He’s a guy who won’t demand much money in free agency. He’s simply an affordable, winning player."

Connaughton’s veteran presence has been a substantial spark for Milwaukee’s bench over the past two seasons, and as Askew detailed, the Bulls need a player that can do that for them. Chicago finished with a 22-43 record this season, 11th in the Eastern Conference. The franchise has remained stuck in a semi-rebuild since the departure of Jimmy Butler several years ago, and they need to make some moves to take that next step.

Bringing in Connaughton alone is not going to resolve their issues, but it would bring in a savvy veteran presence for one of the youngest teams in the association. With an average age of 25-years-old, the Bulls will undoubtedly look to add some honorable vets this offseason, and Pat fits the bill.
