Milwaukee Bucks: 3 threats to sign Pat Connaughton in free agency – Golden State Warriors

After finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference this season, the Golden State Warriors will certainly be back in contention when basketball returns. Likely to undergo a roster retooling this offseason, they reportedly have a specific archetype in mind, and Pat Connaughton checks the boxes.

Speaking on The Athletic’s The TK Podcast hosted by Tim Kawakami, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr detailed how the team needs to bring in some athletic players. Kerr specifically detailed how the team has lost a lot of “bounce” on the wing, and a player with a 44 inch vertical like Pat Connaughton could provide some athleticism.

The Warriors also need to add some more veteran pieces to their roster, given the inexperience outside of their top-three players. Excluding Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, Golden State’s average age of everyone else on the roster is just 24-years-old. The 27-year-old Connaughton will not tip the needle in their pursuit of a title, but the experience he brings to the table would be a welcoming addition.

Along with experience, Pat brings aboard a serviceable rotational player ready to help contribute to a contender the second he arrives. A two-way wing, Connaughton can make his presence felt on both ends of the floor nightly and could be on the Golden State Warriors’ free agency wishlist this offseason.
