Milwaukee Bucks: Where does the current point guard rotation stand? – Eric Bledsoe
The biggest fish of them all for the Bucks, of course, is Eric Bledsoe. After bringing the disgruntled point guard over via trade from the Phoenix Suns three years ago, Bledsoe’s stint in Milwaukee may be on the verge of ending this offseason.
His postseason woes have been the primary scapegoat in Milwaukee’s lack of success outside of the regular season, justifiably so. In three years and 31 total playoff games with the Bucks, Bledsoe’s averages come in at 13.1 points with .411/.254/.732 shooting splits, 4.6 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game.
After a third consecutive abysmal playoff outing, the Bucks have reportedly decided it is time to move on, as it is an “open secret” that the team will look to trade their starting guard this offseason. This comes just one season after handing Bledsoe a four-year, $70 million extension, and that hefty deal makes attempting to trade the guard that much more challenging.
Still, the growing consensus is that Eric Bledsoe will not be back with the Bucks next season. Aside from offering Giannis Antetokounmpo his five-year supermax extension the moment they are eligible, Milwaukee’s top priority this offseason seems to be moving Bledsoe in favor of more shooting and playmaking.
It remains to be seen whether they can pull off a trade, but Eric Bledsoe has likely played his last game with the Milwaukee Bucks.
