Milwaukee Bucks: 3 biggest hurdles in potentially replacing Eric Bledsoe – Attacking the basket

As integral as Bledsoe has been within the Bucks’ defensive unit, the offensive punch he brings to the table is as important to his place within the Bucks’ foundation.

Antetokounmpo gets the most shine in being the Bucks’ head of the snake when it comes to driving downhill and being such an efficient and productive scorer, all with good reason. But when Bledsoe is at his most engaged offensively, he can add the same dimension as Antetokounmpo does when driving down to the lane, though not to the same extraordinary levels.

The pace and aggressive mindset Bledsoe has shown when zooming down the lane has helped him turn in the most efficient campaigns in each of the last two years. And having that extra downhill attacker and finisher has been critical in establishing the offensive diversity the Bucks have needed on that side of the ball during his time in Milwaukee.

Of course, we’ve seen more than enough of how Bledsoe’s attacking and downhill game can be snuffed out in the postseason. And when combined with his long range shooting deficiencies, it’s combined to the net negative that he has routinely been in such situations.

The Bucks are obviously looking to beef up their shooting and shot creation needs in various avenues this offseason. Whether they can have add someone with the same driving instincts and capabilities as Bledsoe provides remains to be seen.
