5 sleepers for Milwaukee Bucks to target with 24th overall pick – Jahmi’us Ramsey

While he doesn’t have the body of work that Pritchard has, Jahmi’us Ramsey made quite the impression over his one-and-done season at Texas tech University last year.

Ramsey boasts natural scoring abilities that were at the center of his strong freshman campaign and propelled him to being the Big 12 Freshman of the Year last season. For as much as Ramsey was a leading focal point for the Red Raiders, his shooting versatility and proficiency off the catch will be quite an asset if he lands with a team  that already has a high-usage creator in their foundation.

Conversely, many ancillary elements in Ramsey’s skill set remain half-baked or undeveloped, especially when it comes to being a player who can lead an NBA offense. And while he has the size, length and explosive athleticism to be a difference maker on the defensive end, putting in consistent effort is the key for the 19-year-old.

Where Ramsey will ultimately be selected has become quite the question, especially as he’s seen his stock fall into late first round/early second round territory as the process has gone on. On that note, Yahoo! Sports’ Vincent Goodwill recently relayed the comments of an anonymous NBA executive that touted Ramsey as being one of the top-5 picks in this draft class when all is said and done:

"“He’ll be better in the NBA for the spacing and the way this game is played,” the executive said. “He’ll end up, when it’s said and done, like Draymond Green, in five years, people will say he’ll be a top-five player in the draft.”"

Those overzealous comments aside, Ramsey has the shotmaking and shooting range to have a role at the next level. Will he be able to supplement the other areas of his game to full actualize his potential? Time will tell.
