Milwaukee Bucks: 3 reasons to reconsider a Chris Paul trade – Paul and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s reported bond

It is no secret that Bucks will offer Giannis Antetokounmpo a five-year supermax extension worth upwards of $200 million this offseason the second they can. However, the growing consensus is that he might hold off on signing it, electing to wait and see if management can bring in some pieces to give him a championship-caliber supporting cast.

If the Bucks are looking to make a long-term pitch towards the two-time MVP, bringing in a player of Chris Paul’s stature might be satisfying enough on its own.

However, Paul is an especially intriguing name to consider because of reports stating that he and Giannis struck up a friendship in the NBA’s restart, stemming from Milwaukee’s unforgettable boycott of Game 5 in the first round this season.

Although Lowe noted that Milwaukee remains confident that Antetokounmpo will sign the supermax this offseason as is, bringing in Paul could be the final say that gets him to put pen to paper. That is just pure speculation, but a future Hall of Fame floor general who just had a resurgent All-Star season sounds like a fantastic pitch towards Giannis, particularly if the two close are close off the court.
