Milwaukee Bucks: Where forward rotation stands going into offseason – Ersan Ilyasova

Plenty of intrigue surrounds Ersan Ilyasova and more specifically, what the Bucks will do with his $7 million salary, which is currently completely non-guaranteed.

Whether the Bucks use Ilyasova’s salary as filler in trade or just outright waive him ahead of his guarantee date remains to be seen, but we’ll soon have an answer on that front with the offseason soon kicking off.

As far as Ilyasova’s play is considered, the Bucks veteran started off strong and still managed to turn in his most efficient season as evidenced by his 58.9 true shooting percentage. However, the arrival of Marvin Williams essentially shuttered Ilyasova’s everyday role in the Bucks’ rotation, which continued on in the season restart and into their brief postseason run.

While Ilyasova brings a sturdy skill set that will always be something the Bucks desire around their cornerstones, his streakiness with his shot as well as his declining mobility leaves the Bucks in a position to look for more worthwhile options at the backup 4-spot.
