Milwaukee Bucks: 3 reasons why Patty Mills is a fitting trade target – Mills’ 3-point shooting

With long range shooters and an upgrade at the guard position on the Bucks’ wishlist this offseason, Mills’ prolific 3-point shooting makes him an eye-catching target.

Heaving a career-high 6.1 attempts from behind the arc this season, Mills connected on an impressive 38.2 percent of them. That mark is just a tick under the 11-year veteran’s career average of 38.9 percent and slightly north of his 38.0 percent career playoff average in 90 total games.

Clutching onto that 38 3-point percentage, Mill has been steadily asserting himself as a consistent threat from long-range throughout the entirety of his career.

The guard’s 3-point stability is exactly what the Bucks need, especially in the backcourt. Bledsoe’s most prominent flaw has been his inconsistencies to hit the long ball, accumulating a 34.4 average in three regular seasons with the Bucks. That subpar average has regressed even more in the postseason, as Bledsoe has connected on just 25.4 percent of his triples in 31 career postseason games in Milwaukee.

Mills would give the Bucks a reliant threat on the perimeter and would fit like a glove playing in head coach Mike Budenholzer’s “let it fly” offense. For a Milwaukee team that needs a capable 3-point shooter to provide some much-needed floor spacing in the backcourt, Mills certianly fits the bill.
