Milwaukee Bucks: 3 reasons for pursuing P.J. Tucker through trade – Tucker’s outside shooting

Tucker shot 35.8 percent on 4.2 attempts from behind the arc this season, serving as a serviceable shooter from distance. While that number does not jump off the page, he does have a growing reputation as one of the most prolific corner shooters in NBA history, arguably the best, according to his peers.

Practically living out in the corners this season, Tucker’s shooting numbers were impressive.

Per NBA.com/stats, Tucker found most of his success camped out in the left corner, where he shot 45-for-109 on the season, a stellar 41.3 percent. In the opposite corner, the swingman shot 45-for-127, equating to 35.4 percent. It was everywhere else on the court that watered down his percentage from distance, as he went just 16-for-62, just 25.8 percent on above the break 3-pointers.

That shooting prowess from the corners would be a welcoming addition for the Bucks and a compatible fit for Antetokounmpo. Tucker would provide the Greek Freak with a reliable threat camping out in the corner who is not shy to let it fly from distance, making the fit seamless.
