Getting an expert’s opinion on Bryn Forbes’ addition to the Milwaukee Bucks
I recently reached out to Ethan Farina over at Air Alamo to better understand Bryn Forbes and what this signing could mean for the MBucks. Below is our brief Q&A, where Ethan answers my questions about the guard after spending the last four seasons with the Spurs.
First, how will you remember Bryn Forbes’ four-year tenure with the Spurs now that he is officially heading to the Bucks?
"“I’ll remember him as the undrafted free agent who worked his ass off to become a fixture in the Spurs starting lineup. We ragged on his defense plenty, but no one can debate that this guy is a worker. He’s going to give you 100% on every night he’s on the floor. He’ll frustrate you with his defense and there will be games where he catches fire from deep, but the thing that stands out most is how hard he works and plays the game.”"
Forbes clearly brings a lethal dose of shooting from behind the arc, but where do you think he fits in with Milwaukee’s current rotation after a wild offseason?
"“I think he’ll come off the bench at first, but don’t be surprised to see Bud use him heavily in a smaller lineup with Giannis at center. This is a guy who started 143 games over the past two seasons, so he can handle anything you throw at him.”"
What is something you would tell Bucks fans who are not too familiar with Bryn Forbes?
"“He’s a really good dude. Good teammate, good in the community, hard worker. Frustrating on defense, but he’s turned himself into a well-rounded offensive player by outworking his competition. He’s a frustrating but fun player to root for.”"
Once again, a special thanks to Ethan from Air Alamo for chatting with me about Bryn Forbes and his fit with the Bucks. Time will tell how the guard adapts with the Bucks, but it should not take long for him to get acquainted with their let it fly mentality from behind the arc, which is why they brought him in.
