2. Milwaukee Bucks at Brooklyn Nets, January 18
The Bucks will travel to the Barclays Center to square off against the Brooklyn Nets on January 18th for an MLK Day special. As things currently stand, the Bucks and Nets are the two teams that many believed are best positioned to represent the Eastern Conference this season, making this matchup all the more appealing.
Between Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Holiday from Milwaukee’s perspective and Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn’s side, there is certainly no shortage of star power in this game, which prompted fans to mark this one immediately.
One such person was ESPN analyst and former NBA champion Paul Pierce, as described his level of excitement for this particular matchup on The Jump, having cited the battle between former MVPs in Antetokounmpo and Durant as his reason.
"“I want to see KD versus Giannis… Giannis is a two-time MVP, but still might not even be the best in the Eastern Conference with KD coming back. So, I’m interested to see that matchup right there.”"
Pierce earned his nickname “The Truth” for a reason, and he showcased it when he said that the Bucks going against the Brooklyn Nets could be the marquee game of the MLK Day slate. Who knows, maybe this game could just be a preview of what is yet to come down the road between two Eastern Conference powerhouses.
