Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for Jrue Holiday in 2020-21 season
By Dalton Sell
Goal No. 1 – Space the floor
Let it fly. This has been the Bucks’ mentality offensively since the Mike Budenholzer era began and has been a staple for the team. After their most recent postseason outing, it was clear that the team needed to add more shooting if they were going to succeed with such an offensive mindset.
Although he is not the most prolific 3-point shooter, Holiday does provide some floor spacing for the Bucks. The guard is coming off a season where he shot 35.3 percent from deep on a career-high 5.7 attempts per game. Per NBA.com/stats, Holiday shot 36.4 percent on his 140 catch-and-shoot 3-point attempts last year and hit 34.7 percent of his 193 3-point attempts off the dribble.
Those numbers do not exactly jump off the page, but it is feasible enough to draw interest from opposing defenses. Holiday’s ability to be a respectable threat from the perimeter at the point guard position opens things up offensively for the Bucks, and that will be a boost they have been searching for in recent memory.
Jrue Holiday is a serviceable threat shooting from long distance, and that was one of the many reasons the Milwaukee Bucks gave up such a significant amount of assets to acquire him.
