Takeaway No. 2 – Bucks light it up from 3-point territory

Letting it fly from 3-point territory has been a staple for the Bucks’ offense since Mike Budenholzer took the reigns, and it was on full display Christmas Day.

The Bucks torched the Warriors with their red-hot shooting as they went 20-for-37 on triples, an incredible 54.1 percent. Donte DiVincenzo, D.J. Wilson, and D.J. Augustin all hit three 3-pointers apiece, but it was Khris Middleton that looked the best from distance. The two-time All-Star shot 6-of-8 on 3-point attempts and had himself a phenomenal day. More on Middleton’s performance in a minute.

Throughout the first two games of the season, the Bucks have shot an outstanding 47.1 percent from 3-point territory. Adding more players capable of spacing the floor, along with improving their internal shooting, was a priority for the franchise this offseason. So far, it appears to be a success. The team has to be pleased after they shot a devastating 28.4 percent on their attempts from downtown throughout their winless preseason run.

Shooting is an emphasis for this Milwaukee offensive end, and although it has been just two games, it appears that the team has found an early rhythm from long-range. Hopefully, they can sustain this high-efficiency shooting and continue to let it fly night in and night out.

While the Bucks were having a field day from 3-point range, the Golden State Warriors were on the opposite side of the spectrum. Golden State shot a mere 10-for-45 from three, which unquestionably played a part in Milwaukee’s success.
