The Milwaukee Bucks hit 50 wins for the second straight season
After rolling through the 2018-19 season and achieving 60 wins in the 2018-19 season, the first time the franchise had done so in 38 years, the Bucks took it up a notch in 2019-20.
It took for their 58th game of the season, a 108-97 win over the Toronto Raptors, for the Bucks. And the fact that they achieved such a mark on the Raptors’ home floor where the Bucks’ season had come to a close several months prior made for an even bigger triumph.
It’s easy to forget now, but the Bucks had gone 32 years with only one 50-win season until the 2018-19 year. The last time they had won 50 or more games in two consecutive seasons was in 1985-86 and 1986-87, which coincided with the tail end of Don Nelson’s reign in Milwaukee.
The Bucks had never won 50 games at a faster pace than last season and it seemed they were on a road paved with gold, eager to exorcise their playoff demons from the year before. Alas, that didn’t come to pass for reason some of which were beyond their control.
