Milwaukee Bucks: 3 most surprising players – D.J. Augustin

Another well-regarded free agent signing of the Bucks this past offseason, D.J. Augustin has not exactly lived up to expectations after the first month of the season.

The veteran has been unable to find any rhythm whatsoever and has regularly been looking lost on the court. Through 14 games, Augustin is averaging just 5.6 points on .333/.349/1.000 shooting splits, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. On top of his limited production on the offensive end, the guard has been a liability on defense, making him virtually unplayable in the early going.

Signing a three-year, $21 million deal in the offseason, the Bucks paid a hefty price for their next sixth man, all of which seemed like a justifiable move at the time.

Augustin had been coming off four solid seasons with the Orlando Magic, and the experience he provided would be crucial down the line. While there is certainly still time for Augustin to flip the script and brush off his rough first impression with the Bucks, this has been an unwelcoming surprise.

dark. Next. Panic or patience on three struggling Bucks

Augustin is not the only member of Milwaukee’s bench that has struggled to find any consistency, but he is the most prominent of the bunch. Hopefully, the 33-year-old can turn things around soon because the Bucks will need him playing at a high level in their quest for a title.
