Milwaukee Bucks: 3 reasons for optimism – They have a legitimate Big 3

Last year, the NBA was a league filled with top-tier duos league-wide, but they have turned it up the notch this season with trios. The Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, the Bucks, and every other contender in the association have a star-studded trio propelling their success this season.

For the Bucks, their leading three have undoubtedly stolen the spotlight early. This group is clicking on both ends of the floor, only getting better with each passing game and the more reps they get together. Although he has gotten off to a shaky start, Giannis Antetokounmpo is still the driving force for this team. He is putting up MVP caliber numbers 16 games into the season, and once he gets into a solid rhythm, watch out.

While Giannis has endured some struggles early, Khris Middleton has helped alleviate some of the workload off his shoulders. Middleton is currently putting up career numbers in several statistical categories, averaging 21.8 points on .522/.426/.920 shooting splits, 6.3 rebounds, and an impressive 5.8 assists per game. His ascension this season has had an immeasurable impact and has been a substantial contribution to the team’s previously mentioned league-best offense.

Last but certainly not least, Jrue Holiday has been special for the Bucks in his first few games with the franchise. Not only is he scoring the ball with career-high efficiency offensively, but he is making an immeasurable impact defensively with his ability to guard multiple positions and opposing star players. Holiday has been the perfect third part to round out this star trio, and he could be the piece they have been missing for so long.

However, this is just the beginning for this new group. With a condensed offseason, shortened training camp, and minimal preseason run, these three have played just a handful of games together. As chemistry continues forming among one another, these three will only get better, which will elevate the team entirely as well.

The league’s best trio seems destined to come out on top at the end of this season, and the Milwaukee Bucks have the recipe, but only time will tell if they can put it all together.
