The Milwaukee Bucks’ ball security has been a falling trend.
Over a week in which the Bucks’ inconsistencies and sloppiness increasingly showed, much of their issues were self-inflicted.
This season, the Bucks stand in the middle of the pack by averaging 13.9 turnovers per game this season. Their weekly average stood within range of that number as they averaged 14.2 miscues over the last four tilts.
That, in itself, wouldn’t be a cause for concern. But the last week hasn’t been normal for the Bucks as they continue to deal with so many different problems on both sides of the ball.
Milwaukee’s defensive woes have put an increased burden on their offense to hold up and keep them within range of games. And even as they stand as the league’s best offense in terms of offensive efficiency, they’ve shown to be prone to stagnation, which certainly surfaced in significant ways last week.
With all of that in mind, these miscues have hurt even greater, especially as games have slipped away from their proverbial grasp. Trying to force passes into windows that collapse quickly sums up the lack of discipline the Bucks can show at times. And all of this doesn’t taken into account the turnovers and offensive fouls that continue to follow around Antetokounmpo as opposing defenses continue to try and draw charges on him.
After an uneven week, the Bucks will look to find the cure to the issues that ail them. And we’ll continue to chart the trends that emerge over the coming week as they hopefully right the ship and break this two-game losing skid of theirs.
