3 keys to victory when visiting Denver Nuggets – Milwaukee Bucks need to slow down Nikola Jokic

The Bucks have faced off against a slew of talented players this season, and they will add another high-profiled All-Star to the list tonight with Nikola Jokic.

The Serbian international has been playing the best basketball of his career this year as he’s averaging 27.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game, all while shooting .569/.392/.840 on the season.

Jokic has been a staple in the far too early MVP discussions, and it is entirely justifiable. Out of Denver’s 22 games, the big man has finished as the leading scorer 14 times, leading rebounder 20 times, and the leading assist man 14 times. He’s been doing it all for the Nuggets this year on every level, and the Bucks need to emphasize keeping him at bay.

Jokic is coming off a herculean performance Saturday night where he scored a career-high 50 points while also tallying eight rebounds, 12 assists, and three blocks. Although these efforts came in a loss, there is a reason that the big man is a prominent name in the MVP discussion. He will be red-hot coming into this matchup, and the Bucks will face a tall task slowing him down.
