Jrue Holiday is the second star of the week for the Milwaukee Bucks

There’s no question the Bucks sorely missed Jrue Holiday over the 10 games he was in the league’s health and safety protocols and recovering from COVID-19.

While the Bucks eventually recovered in the middle of the stretch when they were without Holiday, it was the veteran guard’s game-winning shot against the Grizzlies that showed what they were missing.

Holiday’s ball hawking defense and high defensive IQ forced the massive turnover that eventually led to the incredible triple that Pat Connaughton hit to make it a 108-107 game with 39.1 seconds to go in the final frame. That, by the way, served as the Bucks’ first and only triple in the second half.

Just as he had showed days earlier in his return against the L.A. Clippers, Holiday’s calm, cool demeanor has been a critical component to how the Bucks have gotten comfortable operating in clutch time situations this season.

Even as he’s working his way back to being 100 percent, Holiday’s presence was certainly instrumental in salvaging that win against the Grizzlies.
