Milwaukee Bucks guard Bryn Forbes is playing his role to perfection this season

When the Bucks added Bryn Forbes via free agency this past offseason, it was clear that they brought him aboard to space the floor.

Throughout his previous four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, Forbes had been an electric shooter, and he has carried that hot hand over to Milwaukee. The guard is shooting a career-high 47.1 percent on 4.6 attempts from behind the arc this season, lighting it up from deep consistently.

That 3-point prowess has allowed Forbes to become an ideal fit next to Giannis Antetokounmpo in a role similar to how the Bucks used Kyle Korver last year. One of the best deep ball shooters in league history, Korver primarily found himself paired alongside Giannis more than any teammate because of that floor spacing he provided offensively. With Korver having departed this offseason, the Bucks could not have found a better replacement than Bryn Forbes.

Per NBA.com/stats, the guard has spent 443 minutes playing alongside Antetokounmpo this season, unsurprisingly the most he has logged with any teammate. Playing next to the two-time MVP has undoubtedly helped take Forbes’ game up a notch, providing a massive scoring spark off the bench most nights.

This was certainly the case in Milwaukee’s big win over the New York Knicks Thursday night in a game where Forbes could not miss from deep. Shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from distance, Forbes finished with 21 points in the Bucks’ 33 point win, adding another fantastic performance to the books.

These three players were great in the first half of the season for the Milwaukee Bucks, and hopefully there is more to come.
