Bobby Portis is the third star of the week for the Milwaukee Bucks.

With all apologies to Bryn Forbes, especially after going a perfect 7-for-7 from 3-point range against the Knicks, Bobby Portis gets our third star of the week.

As he has done all season long, Portis has brought a consistent offensive punch to a Bucks bench unit that has sorely needed one. Over the Bucks’ two wins last week, Portis averaged 11 points on 8-of-18 shooting (44.4 percent), 4-for-10 from deep, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal in 20.6 minutes per contest.

Portis has assumed the role of the Bucks’ scoring spark off the bench all season long, a role he has spoken about embracing, especially within a winning team. And there’s no question that Portis doesn’t lack confidence whenever he’s on the court.

This week was a perfect distillation of the best that Portis brings to the court and how he continues to impact the Bucks in his sixth man-like role. Hopefully that continues moving forward into the second half of the season.

We’ll be back again next week to hand out our three Bucks stars of the week following their rematch with the Wizards, high-profile visit to Philadelphia and playing host to the San Antonio Spurs.
