Third potential buyout candidate for the Milwaukee Bucks — Otto Porter Jr.

If the Bucks are looking to shore up their perimeter efforts in the buyout market, Otto Porter Jr. would be a feasible option for them to monitor.

Playing in just 92 games over the past three seasons, Porter has been riddled with injuries consistently. The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor recently reported that “executives believe a buyout could occur” if the Chicago Bulls fail to trade him and his $28.5 million salary before the deadline passes.

Despite the lingering injury concerns that have already caused the eight-year veteran to miss a month of action this season, contending teams will be interested. When he has been fortunate enough to hit the floor, Porter has been a productive rotational piece for the Bulls by averaging 10.7 points on .442/.407/.838 shooting splits, 5.6 rebounds, and two assists per game.

Hypothetically, the 27-year-old could provide a solid dose of floor spacing and scoring in the second unit for the Bucks, which would be a welcoming addition. Defensively, Porter will not stand out in a crowd, particularly amongst those on Milwaukee’s roster, but he could still be a solid contributor, snatching 1.1 steals per game for his career.

While the injury concerns are certainly justifiable, Otto Porter would be a solid piece to bring in off the buyout market for this team. Time will tell what the Bulls decide to do with the forward, but in the event that he gets bought out, he would be a low-risk, high-reward option for the Bucks.
