Milwaukee Bucks still stand in the shadow of the Brooklyn Nets, even after quiet deadline

After having leapfrogged the Bucks for the second seed following their win over the Detroit Pistons Friday night, the Brooklyn Nets stand as the sleeping giant in the East without question.

After all, the Nets have the greatest collection of talent of any team this season, all of which is headlined by the likes of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Brooklyn’s riches are only getting richer after adding Blake Griffin on a midseason buyout and they have been steadily linked to Andre Drummond, who was finally bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Bucks have only gotten to see the Nets once so far this season, with that game coming in light of their blockbuster for Harden. And while Durant has missed extensive time since getting off to a hot start to the year, the Nets have continued to take flight without one of the most premier scorers in NBA history.

Milwaukee will have to get used to trying to keep at the Nets’ pace for the rest of the season and their two-game set in early May will provide some late season fireworks. The fact that both teams are currently projected to face each other in Eastern Conference Semifinals may stir some nightmares in Milwaukee.
