Mamadi Diakite could be Milwaukee Bucks’ center prospect of the future

Last but not least, plenty of Bucks fans have been intrigued by the potential of two-way player Mamadi Diakite.

Diakite is fresh off of earning multiple honors following his G League run with the Lakeland Magic where he went on to show why his development would be worth investing in for the Bucks.

Although not all of Diakite’s expansive game has translated in his spot minutes with the Bucks since making his NBA debut earlier this month, the 24-year-old has flashed in specific areas. A player of Diakite’s size, length and mobility is capable of protecting the rim credibly and his second jump is an asset he can always fall back, especially after selling out to slow down opposing ball handlers.

While Diakite has to improve upon his nascent floor spacing abilities, the fact that he is capable of creating shots like the following coast-to-coast layup on Nerlens Noel has been a regular trick in his bag on both the NBA and G League levels.

Despite going undrafted in last year’s draft, Diakite has clearly acquitted himself to the professional level thus far. While he has more room to grow in filling out his skill set and improving upon his raw physical tools, Diakite has find the right formula so far in his Bucks stint.

Whether the Bucks’ rookie trio will continue to see high-level minutes as the season progresses remains to be seen, but they all hold plenty of intrigue in the team’s future plans.
