De’Aaron Fox had his work cut out for him against Milwaukee Bucks’ Jrue Holiday

Another ascending star guard in this league, De’Aaron Fox had a fantastic game for the Sacramento Kings in their April 3 matchup against the visiting Bucks.

Fox finished the contest with 27 points on 10-for-24 shooting, including 2-for-7 from long range. While numbers like that signal that the 23-year-old had everything clicking that night, it was far from easy when he saw Jrue Holiday as his primary defender for seven and a half minutes in the matchup.

Holiday did a fantastic job of keeping Fox at bay throughout that timeframe, holding the guard to just six points on 3-of-9 shooting, including 0-of-2 from behind the arc, while also logging a turnover. Among the fastest players in the league, Fox’s high-energy play makes him a tough cover for even the best defenders, but Holiday showed his prowess by limiting him as much as possible offensively in this game.

Although it was merely a brief stretch, one could have undoubtedly argued that Holiday should have been glued to Fox for far more than just seven and a half of his 38 minutes logged that night. Nevertheless, the Bucks were able to pick up the win, thanks to some stunning two-way efforts from Holiday without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup.
