Jrue Holiday opened up about how winning influenced him to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks long-term

Four short months after trading for him, Holiday signed a massive four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Bucks earlier this month that keeps him in town for the foreseeable future.

Nearly 31 years old, it was a big decision for Holiday to make, as he essentially committed to spending the final years of his prime playing basketball with the Bucks. However, as the guard has reiterated on numerous occasions since signing his deal, it was an easy decision to put pen to paper because he simply wants to win above all else:

"“It’s a team where I feel like we actually enjoy playing with each other, and we’re actually winning at a high level. It’s something that I hadn’t experience before, so why would I leave this?.. Basketball here, man, I’m telling you, they’re committed to winning, and I feel like it’s not B.S. and I didn’t get any B.S. from that. I appreciate that.”"

The Bucks have indeed done their share of winning over the past two regular seasons by boasting the best overall record throughout that timeframe. However, they have not been able to carry that success over into the postseason, which is ultimately one of the reasons they made chasing Holiday a key priority in the offseason.

With Holiday now locked in for the foreseeable future alongside their other core pieces, the team’s only focus moving forward remains winning a championship. They undoubtedly have the requisite pieces to make a run at the title, but time will tell if Holiday can truly be the missing piece for the Bucks.
