How did the Milwaukee Bucks’ trio play against the Brooklyn Nets?

Just like the 76ers, the Bucks have not played a full-strength Brooklyn Nets team in their three meetings this season. The Bucks will not play against the Nets with James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving all sharing the court simultaneously unless they meet in a postseason.

Still, the three games they did play this season have all been headlined by the sheer amount of star power at work. Antetokounmpo has carved up Brooklyn’s defense in this series by averaging a whopping 39.7 points on 48.9 percent shooting from the floor. Furthermore, he has upped his production with his outside shooting, shooting 10-for-26 (38.5 percent) from range. While Antetokounmpo has lived up to his MVP status in these matchups, he has gotten some assistance from his supporting cast.

Middleton has stepped up against the Nets by averaging 24.7 points on a highly efficient 50.8 percent field goal shooting. While the forward has put up big numbers offensively in this matchup, he has struggled to get that outside shot to fall by shooting just 4-for-15 in these three contests. In addition to his scoring boost, he has hauled in 7.3 rebounds and grabbed 2.7 steals per game.

Holiday has also turned up the intensity against the Nets by averaging 21 points on 51.1 percent from the floor (50 percent from deep) while tallying 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. He has also played some hounding defense against all three members of Brooklyn’s trio by showing his prowess on that side of the ball against the Nets’ three dominant scorers.

Seeing every member of Milwaukee’s Big 3 step up against Brooklyn’s star-studded roster is certainly a welcoming sight for fans. If the Bucks go toe-to-toe with a healthy Nets team down the line, it will take top-tier efforts like these to overcome such a collection of superstar talent.
