Donte DiVincenzo must step up for the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 2 against Miami Heat

For everything that he brings to the table, Donte DiVincenzo is arguably the biggest X-factor for the Bucks in this series against the Heat.

The guard did not exactly start things off on the right foot in this series by scoring three points on 1-for-5 shooting. Missing three attempts from 3-point range and also logging three turnovers, it was a poor showing on the offensive end as DiVincenzo could not find any rhythm with the basketball across his 37 minutes played.

Although he managed to impact the game elsewhere by hauling in 10 rebounds and handing out four assists, three points from a starting shooting guard is worrisome in a postseason setting. With so much pressure drawn towards the Bucks’ Big 3, DiVincenzo’s scoring could be a massive boost for this offense if he can find his stride.

Fans have seen the guard erupt with a scoring burst on multiple occasions this season, oftentimes thanks to a red hot shooting night from distance. To his credit, the 23-year-old has improved his outside shooting substantially this season, but that was not the case in his 1-of-4 outing against the Heat. While it could be categorized as an off-game for DiVincenzo, only time will tell if he can conjure some consistent shooting throughout the remainder of this series.

While the Bucks certainly value the hustle plays DiVincenzo continues making on a game-to-game basis, his offense could be the difference-maker in this series.
