How did Bobby Portis and P.J. Tucker perform for the Milwaukee Bucks in first round against Heat?

C. Milwaukee Bucks. BOBBY PORTIS. A-. Enjoying the most efficient season on the offensive end of his career throughout the regular season, Bobby Portis carried that impressive success over into the postseason. Playing an average of 17.7 minutes, Portis finished the series averaging 10.8 points on .586/.462/.750 shooting splits. Those highly efficient splits helped provide a spark in the second unit by scoring from everywhere on the floor as the big man was knocking down his mid-range shots, 3-pointers, and especially his shots close to the basket with some memorable dunks. Paired with his electric, energetic presence in the second unit, Portis left a massive imprint on this series with his consistent efforts.

The Bucks traded for P.J. Tucker before the deadline earlier this season to help fortify their efforts on the defensive side of the ball, and his presence certainly proved impactful during these four games. Tucker played his share of hounding defense on all of Miami’s primary weapons by holding them to 7-for-25 (28 percent) shooting from the floor. The forward’s primary assignment defensively was Jimmy Butler. Butler had himself an abysmal all-around series, which Tucker played a part in by keeping his contributions minimal as he surrendered nine points on 2-of-12 shooting over the series. Offensively, Tucker’s production was finite as he scored just 12 points on 5-for-12 shooting, including 2-for-7 from behind the arc. While his corner 3-pointer is always a welcoming boost, it was Tucker’s defense that the Bucks needed in this series, and he undoubtedly delivered for them in that department.. PF. Milwaukee Bucks. Whether the Bucks’ reserves can continue their strong performances over this playoff run remains to be seen, but they’ll face quite the test in the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
