What players are saying about the Milwaukee Bucks versus the Brooklyn Nets

Both the Bucks and Nets will boast their own share of star power when these two teams hit the floor tonight.

The headliner in this prime-time matchup will undoubtedly be the battle between former MVPs in Antetokounmpo versus Durant. This will be the first-ever playoff matchup between the two and they are undoubtedly both excited to see each other at work. For instance, Antetokounmpo lauded Durant after squaring off against him twice last month with the utmost praise, citing the two-time Finals MVP as someone who has inspired him. Via ESPN’s Malika Andrews:

"“What he does is unbelievable,” Antetokounmpo said Sunday night. “Being 6-11, being able to shoot over everybody. The way he handles the ball and gets to his spot is unbelievable — the best I’ve seen in my life. I look up to him, I’m not gonna lie… Nobody in this world can go back and forth with KD,” Antetokounmpo said. “He’s been one of the greatest scorers to ever play this game.”"

However, the praise between these two superstars is far from a one-sided affair. While Giannis made it clear that Durant is someone that he has admiration for, it appears that sense might be mutual to some extent. Recently speaking to the media, Durant spoke on Antetokounmpo’s relentless pursuit to improve his craft and become the best player he can possibly be. Via the YES Network:

"“He’s long, athletic, he plays hard, he cares about his teammates, he cares about winning. You put that combination together and you make a tough player. His game is expanding, he’s hitting the turnaround J now, he’s shooting threes, so we’ve got out work cut out for us. He’s a two-time MVP, Defensive Player of the Year for a reason, so we’re looking forward to the challenge.”"

Both teams are looking forward to getting out on the floor without question. We will almost certainly not hear any praise from James Harden or Blake Griffin ahead of time as there is no love lost between them and Antetokounmpo stemming from past feuds, there is mutual respect between the two guys at the top.
