Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from 107-96 Game 4 win over Brooklyn Nets
Giannis Antetokounmpo gets back on track for Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 win over Nets
It wasn’t perfect, but Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s Game 4 performance was more of what all Bucks fans were hoping for.
Antetokounmpo finished with a game-high 34 points on 14-for-26 shooting (1-for-5 from three, 5-for-10 from the foul line), 12 boards, five turnovers, three assists and a block in over 38 minutes of run.
The two-time MVP put an end to his erratic play this series as the Bucks put Antetokounmpo more off the ball and rolling to the rim to generate high-quality looks at the basket. 26 of Antetokounmpo’s 34 points came in the painted area and he was 11-for-13 on shots within the restricted area for the day, per NBA.com/stats.
Antetokounmpo’s success in the paint and at the basket didn’t put an end to the same misguided shots that has been a nagging issue all throughout the series. The Bucks superstar clearly has to work on his overall discipline and not going for the home run basket every time down the floor.
However, Milwaukee put Antetokounmpo in a much better position to thrive and succeed. The fact that 11 of Antetokounmpo’s 14 made field goals were assisted indicates that the Bucks have a handle on what’s needed to get the best out of Antetokounmpo and the Bucks as a whole.
Game 5 of the Bucks’ Conference Semifinals series with the Brooklyn Nets will take place Tuesday night at the Barclays Center. You can catch the action on TNT where it will be nationally televised once it tips off near 7:30 P.M. CST.
