5 moments that have defined the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 playoff run
Jrue Holiday’s steal and alley oop to Giannis Antetokounmpo clinched the Milwaukee Bucks’ Game 5 win in the NBA Finals
Last but certainly not least, the Bucks’ collective steel and resiliency was on full display in their clutch Game 5 win over the Suns in the NBA Finals.
Between swinging around a 16-point deficit from the first quarter onwards and enjoying one of their best shooting performances of their playoff run so far, the Bucks just needed one more push to hold on against the Suns late.
Following a miss from Jrue Holiday, Booker went down the other end of the floor and probed the Bucks’ defense down 1 as precious few seconds remained on the game clock. The crowd of Bucks defenders that walled him up gave Holiday the perfect opportunity to pounce on Booker and rip the ball away from the Suns’ star guard. If that wasn’t enough, Holiday jumpstarted the Bucks in transition and set the stage for the highlight alley oop to Antetokounmpo that will be remembered long after this run ends.
That monumental sequence propelled the Bucks later and helped them hang on to take a 123-119 victory and bring them within one win of an NBA title.
It was not only fitting for Antetokounmpo to keep on topping himself in his monumental playoff run, but Holiday delivered the signature performance and moment that all Bucks fans had been waiting over this Finals series. And showing us all what the Bucks may have been missing in previous playoff runs.
Of course, we’ll see if the Bucks can bring the biggest moment to fruition going into Game 6 Tuesday night, but the foundation for a historic and thrilling playoff run has been set up from the start.
