The Milwaukee Bucks could pursue Patty Mills in 2021 NBA Free Agency

Another player the Bucks could explore signing to improve their guard depth would be Patty Mills, who they also have expressed interest in previously.

There were rumblings back in November that they were “expressing interest” in trading for the San Antonio Spurs guard, but nothing ever came about. Perhaps the guard’s $13 million salary had something to do with that as the Bucks had minimal wiggle room financially. However, with Mills set to hit unrestricted free agency, that interest could feasibly reignite once again under different circumstances this time around.

The Bucks will likely be in the market for a backup point guard depending on how things pan out with Jeff Teague, and Mills would be an immediate upgrade. The 32-year-old is known as a solid scorer, averaging 11.2 points over the past two seasons in a sixth-man role. However, what makes Mills such a seamless fit for the Bucks would be his electric 3-point shooting, as he has shot the long-ball at 37.9 percent on 6.2 attempts in that same timeframe. Shooting like that paired with Giannis Antetokounmpo would be a perfect match and something the team will be hunting for more of this offseason.

The biggest question mark will be how much the guard is seeking on his next deal, and whether or not the Bucks even fit in that demographic. Nevertheless, Mills should be among the top free agents for Milwaukee’s front office to target this offseason.
