Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Detroit Pistons: Wayne Ellington

The Milwaukee Bucks could pair Wayne Ellington with Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 free agency

Looking to shore up their second unit shooting, Wayne Ellington would be the perfect target for the Bucks in free agency.

Playing 46 games with the Detroit Pistons this season, Ellington proved to be a pleasant surprise by averaging 9.6 points on .441/.422/.800 shooting splits. That instant offense tied in with his cheap contract made him one of the more under-the-radar targets at last season’s trade deadline, but no team managed to pry him away at the deadline. Set to enter unrestricted free agency, the guard will have a handful of contending teams looking to utilize his services.

The Bucks should be among those teams, with the guard being an easy plug-in. His shooting would instantly make him a compatible fit for Antetokounmpo, giving the Greek Freak a reliable threat out on the perimeter. As the Bucks have done with Kyle Korver and Bryn Forbes over the past two seasons, they would likely designate most of Ellington’s playing time alongside Giannis, which would be a seamless pairing.

Looking to improve their shooting, the Bucks should look to make a run at a player that just had a solid year for a Central Division rival, particularly if he could be had on an affordable deal.
