The Milwaukee Bucks could pair Bryn Forbes with Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 free agency

The best sharpshooting free agent for the Bucks might be Bryn Forbes, who just so happens to have just won a championship with them.

After a solid season, Forbes will officially enter free agency after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that he will decline his player option worth $2.3 million for next year. He will deservingly be seeking a raise for his efforts. After all, Forbes had a career year shooting the basketball by hitting 45.2 percent of his triples, the fourth-most efficient mark in the league this season among qualified players.

That outside shot made Forbes a fantastic fit for the Bucks, particularly when paired next to Giannis, which is where he spent most of his time on the floor. According to NBA.com/stats, Forbes played 698 minutes with Antetokounmpo on the floor during the regular season, by far the most he spent with any teammate. Antetokounmpo’s persistence to bulldoze his way to the basket created many opens looks for Forbes, which made these two a perfect match.

The chemistry is already there between the two, which is why Forbes would be an ideal free agent target for the Bucks. However, him declining that option signals that he believes there could be a much more lucrative deal out there on the open market, one that could exceed what the Bucks could offer him.

Only time will tell, but there is no questioning just how impactful the combination of Forbes and Antetokounmpo proved to be this season.
