Sandro Mamukaleshvili brings shooting upside to the Milwaukee Bucks

While Mamukaleshvili’s intriguing passing ability headlines his unique game, he certainly has the capabilities to space the floor and to the degree that the Bucks ask of all their frontcourt players.

A career 33.9 percent 3-point shooter in college at 298 3-point attempts, Mamukaleshvili can credibly hit shots from distance in a variety of ways. Whether that’s in static catch-and-shoot looks, pick-and-pops or in handoff sets.

Mamukaleshvili’s best shooting season came as a junior where he went 23-for-53 from three (43.4 percent), a campaign that was disrupted by a wrist injury Mamukaleshvili suffered midway through. He returned back for his senior season and upped his volume of looks from that range, but finished the year going 42-for-125 on such shots (33.6 percent).

Milwaukee will certainly be keen to improve Mamu’s 3-poijnt efficiency and paring that with the higher volume he displayed as a senior, especially as his future role will be more reliant on being able to hit from long range.

What the Bucks won’t have to alter is Mamu’s willingness to let it fly and that in itself is certainly to the ethos that he will have to adhere to upon coming to the reigning champs.
