The Milwaukee Bucks must find a backup point guard in 2021 NBA Freee Agency

Another long-time NBA veteran that finally got a championship ring this season with the Bucks is Jeff Teague, although his free agency case is not as open and shut.

Teague came aboard mid-season via the buyout market, a move reuniting him with his former head coach Mike Budenholzer, and his play was hot or cold. Aside from a brief scoring barrage in Game 6 versus the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals, Teague’s contributions in the playoffs were minimal. He was oftentimes played off the floor, and it would make sense if the team is looking for an upgrade at the position once free agency begins.

After electing not to take a point guard in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Bucks must believe they will find their next backup floor general on the free agent market. After all, this upcoming class is loaded with talent at the position. Adding an experienced ball-handler will be crucial in their retool ahead of next season, and the team will have no shortage of options to choose from on the market to make a pitch toward. Despite being low on spending money, they will surely be able to land on one that suffices.

While a Teague return might not be out of the cards entirely due to his previously announced desire to play under Budenholzer, which led him to Milwaukee in the first place last season, the Bucks could certainly stand to find an upgrade running the floor behind Jrue Holiday.
