Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for George Hill to target during 2021-22 season

Goal No. 3 — George Hill should shoot above 40 percent from deep with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021-22

While Hill’s passing certainly stood out during his 2019-20 campaign with the Bucks, it failed in comparison to his prolific 3-point shot.

The guard led the league in 3-point percentage by shooting an impressive 46 percent on three attempts per game. He was fantastic, giving Milwaukee a reliable floor spacer off the bench to come in and knock down triples consistently. As he looks to find his footing again this time around, finding a groove from behind the arc would be the quickest way to get reacquainted in a system that embraces players letting it fly whenever they get the chance.

For Hill to succeed, he will have to stick with what worked for him in that season, which was his ability to capitalize on catch-and-shoot tries. The guard shot 47-of-94 (50 percent) on those shots during the 2019-20 campaign, utilizing a quick trigger to knock them down with efficiency. With the Bucks losing Bryn Forbes, who was their go-to catch-and-shoot guard off the bench, Hill will be tasked with trying to fill that void to some extent.

As he looks to conjure up some of that same magic, Hill should aim to shoot above 40 percent from deep during the 2021-22 season. He has shot above 40 percent from the outside in just four of his 13 seasons to this point, but playing under Budenholzer and receiving an abundance of open looks due to Antetokounmpo’s gravity should give him a fair shot at making it five. Given his role, he will likely shoot somewhere around three triples per game once again, which makes this goal all the more attainable.

It seems like most Bucks fans are happy to see Hill back in Milwaukee, and for good reason.
