The Milwaukee Bucks re-signing Bobby Portis was their biggest victory of the 2021 offseason

In an offseason full of moves, it goes without saying that re-signing Bobby Portis was the biggest win for the Bucks this offseason.

The big man played a key role for the Bucks throughout the season as an energizer off the bench, giving them some tenacious energy on the floor. In addition to his ever-vibrant presence, Portis backed it up with solid production as the team’s sixth man. Scoring the basketball and hauling in rebounds at a prolific rate, he played a massive role off the bench while also enjoying his most efficient shooting season by tallying new career-highs in field goal and 3-point percentage.

When Portis agreed to return to Milwaukee on a team-friendly two-year deal despite receiving more desirable offers from other teams, fans were justifiably thrilled. His efforts during this title run helped cement the 26-year-old as a fan favorite forever, and he showed his love to the city and fans alike by returning. Portis will undeniably get a warm welcome when he fits takes the floor at Fiserv Forum next season, and deservingly so after the season he just had.

Portis will once again serve as one of the most crucial players for the Bucks next season as they look to defend their title. With an entire city behind him, the “People’s Champ” seems destined for big things heading into year two with the Bucks. If he cand the team can have an encore of what took place during their first year together, that statement will hold true.
