Milwaukee Bucks: Brook Lopez is rated too low on NBA 2K22

Brook Lopez has been stuck at a 79 overall rating for the past five years. The big man has been underrated since joining the Bucks in 2018, but his contributions to his team should not continue to go unnoticed. After this title run, he deserves to see that rating go up a few ticks, at least past 80 overall at the bare minimum. Lopez has developed into a formidable shot-blocking threat close to the hoop, in addition to being a solid threat offensively.

The biggest gripe with the rating is that it has Lopez ranked as the 20th best center in the game, with there being a five-way tie for 16th place at 79 overall. Some controversial picks ahead of him on the list include Jusuf Nurkic, Wendell Carter Jr., and Mitchell Robinson. Lopez undeniably has a case to be higher than all three of those players, but as always, 2K will have their share of ratings that are purely controversial.

Being the fourth or fifth option on the Bucks behind players like star Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday, Lopez will not get all of the spotlight in his direction. Still, after witnessing just how important he is to this team, particularly on the defensive end, as he has helped anchor the best defensive team in basketball over the past three seasons, a 79 seems like a touch too low. No disrespect, but there are a few players rated higher than him that Lopez could be easily rated higher than.
