Milwaukee Bucks: Bobby Portis will increase his NBA 2K22 rating

Bobby Portis, also known as “The People’s Champ” around Milwaukee, did not receive the same love from NBA 2K as he did from the Bucks’ fanbase. The big man was rated a 79 overall, which is the exact same rating he had in the last installment of the game. The 26-year-old expressed his displeasure with the decision on Twitter, saying there was no reason that he did not improve, and he has a point after a fantastic year with the Bucks.

The six-year veteran is coming off arguably his most impactful season as he played a pivotal role for the Bucks off the bench. The team managed to re-sign him in free agency on a team-friendly deal, and he will return and reclaim his spot in the rotation next season. While Portis replicating his career-best efficiency from 2020-21 will be a tall task for him next season, the big man is poised for another big year with the Bucks. With his scoring, rebounding, hustle, and energetic presence, the 26-year-old should pick up right where he left off.

If so, that could potentially help him gain traction in next season’s Sixth Man of the Year race, an award he got slight consideration for last year. If Portis can become a staple in that conversation as the year progresses, his NBA 2K rating will surely have to increase. For now, he stands as one of the several Bucks that are being underrated by the video game.
