3 big men the Milwaukee Bucks should target — DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has bounced around the league over the past several years, and the Bucks should make a pitch to make Milwaukee his next stop.

Like Gasol, Cousins is not the player that he once was. There was a time where Cousins was often regarded as the most dominant center in the NBA, but unfortunately, injuries have plagued him in recent seasons. He played in just 119 games over the past four seasons, including having missed the entire 2019-20 season. The big man aimed to bounce back during the 2020-21 season with the Houston Rockets, and although he put up the least productive numbers in his career, it was good to see him back on the court. Cousins would eventually make his way to the LA Clippers later in the year, where they used him in a role similar to what the Bucks could hypothetically use.

With Serge Ibaka spending most of the season injured, the Clippers brought in Cousins to fortify their frontcourt, and the big man did just that. Although he played a mere 12.9 minutes across 16 regular season games with LA, Cousins did his job by averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds to give them that much-needed boost. The Bucks could follow a similar blueprint in the sense that they do not need Cousins to play a big role on impact, but that he could be useful to improve their depth and play when called upon. There might be some looming concerns about his health, but this would be a low-risk scenario for the Bucks as they look to add size before next season.

Cousins would surely help bring some more toughness and intensity to the locker room, but only time will tell if the Milwaukee Bucks have any interest in the four-time All-Star.
