Milwaukee Bucks: Keep an eye on Jordan Nwora in 2021 preseason

Entering year two, all eyes will be on Jordan Nwora and whether or not he can carve out a role for himself with the defending champions. Nwora was never a staple in the Bucks’ rotation during his rookie year, but there were times when he looked fantastic when he played hefty minutes. When he took the stage for Summer League this past offseason, many hoped to see him dominate the competition, but his play was met with mixed results. When his shot was not falling, he struggled to contribute elsewhere, as he has never been a notable passer or defender.

Nwora is among the biggest wild cards on Milwaukee’s roster heading into the 2021-22 season. When things are clicking, Nwora is a lethal scorer that can shoot the lights out from behind the arc, having scored 20 or more points in three of the four games where he played 20 plus minutes last season. However, when he is struggling, Nwora tends to continue forcing shots, which was the biggest takeaway from his Summer League effort. Considering he is entering his second season and just turned 23-years-old, these growing pains are understandable.

The Bucks will want to get Nwora involved in some capacity next season. They certainly could put that sharpshooting of his to good use, especially after the loss of Bryn Forbes in free agency. He could be a meaningful contributor on the offensive end, and although his defense needs work, that is something that will progress with time. The forward will likely see time in the preseason, and all eyes will be fixated on him once again to see how he performs. A strong showing would help his chances of earning a role once the regular season begins.
