Elijah Bryant is among the least likely Milwaukee Bucks to make the roster

The Bucks waived Elijah Bryant following their title run but quickly extended a training camp invite in his direction to bring him back to Milwaukee. It seems like the organization is rather high on him ever since his Summer League stint with the team several years back, where he reportedly left a great impression on them. They did not want to let him walk out the door, and he has been back for camp and the preseason.

Bryant has surprisingly played well during his three preseason games by averaged 12.3 points per game while shooting 56.5 percent from the field and an eye-catching 63.6 percent from distance. The guard has given the team some instant offense in the second unit across his 67 total minutes. In fact, Bryant is Milwaukee’s leading scorer for the preseason among players that have appeared in all three games, trailing only Jordan Nwora’s 20.3 points per game.

As impressive as all of those statistics sound, Bryant’s case to make the opening night roster is up in the air right now. The Bucks have both of their two ways slots occupied at the moment, which would have been Bryant’s best bet to return to them for another season. Anything can happen in the next few days, but Bryant will likely be among those to go once the preseason ends, barring a change. Johnny O’Brant seemed like a clear-cut pick over Bryant on this list prior to Monday, but with the team requesting waivers on him to start the week, Bryant will take his place here.

Who knows if the organization is willing to let Bryant walk or if they will pull some strings once more to make sure he sticks around.
