Giannis Antetokounmpo’s dominant 40-point effort was not enough for the Milwaukee Bucks in loss to Minnesota Timberwolves

With what seemed like the entire team struggling, Giannis Antetokounmpo took it upon himself to try and will the Bucks to a victory last night.

The Greek Freak scored an eye-catching 40 points while shooting 15-of-23 from the field, getting mostly whatever he wanted on the night. Something that stood out was certainly his 3-point shot, as he knocked down three of his six attempts from the perimeter. His confidence continues to rise from out there, and he is seeing results early, just like with the free throws. Antetokounmpo shot an impressive 7-of-9 from the stripe against the Timberwolves, showing off that new routine.

In addition to his scoring, Antetokounmpo was doing everything else. He was a dominant force on the glass by pulling down 16 boards while also having displayed his facilitating ability by dishing out seven assists on the night. Defensively, he was formidable as ever by blocking three shots and making several plays on the side of the ball. He did all of this while totaling just two turnovers and a single personal foul, which is very impressive.

Unsurprisingly, Antetokounmpo was a team-high +9 in the contest as he was a one-man wrecking crew. It stings to see such a fantastic performance from Antetokounmpo end in a loss, especially after the Bucks came back to make it close in the final minutes. Well, onto the next one.
