The Milwaukee Bucks make a strong push to trade for another big man

Anyone that has watched the Bucks this season understands that the team desperately needs to add another big man. Starting center Brook Lopez has played just one game due to back soreness, and Bobby Portis has also missed significant time due to injury. Sandro Mamukelashvili saw some time for the Bucks early because of these injuries, but he is a rookie, so they will not be too reliant on him over the course of an 82-game regular season.

If the Bucks will make a trade before the deadline, it will likely be for a big man. There is currently no timetable for Lopez’s return, which has fans worried. If this is something serious, the team will need to add a viable option at center in some capacity. There are a few names that they could take a look at on the current free agent market, but a trade is also a reasonable avenue to explore. The biggest problem with a trade is that a good portion of players cannot be traded until December 15 after signing new deals with their teams this offseason.

Still, it is feasible to believe that the Bucks will explore adding center depth between now and February. One name that would be worth considering is Mo Bamba, the young big man for the Orlando Magic that is having a resurgent season and putting up the best numbers of his career. Say the Magic are unwilling to part ways with Bamba, the Bucks could ask about Robin Lopez, a former Buck and twin brother of Brook. Those are just two players that would make sense, but there is an endless amount of names the team could consider as their center woes continue.
