Will this be the game for Jrue Holiday to get his shooting going for the Milwaukee Bucks against the New York Knicks?

It has been three games now since Jrue Holiday returned to the lineup after sitting out with a sprained ankle (and then a non-COVID illness) and he’s been a little rusty in finding his shooting touch in those games.

Holiday has shot under 40 percent in each game and was under 30 percent in last night’s game against the Sixers. The good news is that he put together a pretty full line aside from points with seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks.

That’s the nice thing about a player like Holiday is that he can impact the game in so many ways without scoring, but we’re seeing the limits of him as the primary perimeter creator without Khris Middleton a little bit.

I will cut Holiday some slack in that it does take a little bit to come back from an ankle sprain and get your jumper and layups back to normal. I also wouldn’t have guessed that Holiday was 4-of-14 against the Sixers, he had a few really nice baskets driving to the basket.

But for fans who were a bit worried after Holiday’s rough shooting championship run at times, this will not ease their minds in the slightest. I’m willing to give him the benefit of a couple of more games and then when Middleton returns to the lineup as well.

However, this is definitely something to keep an eye on the rest of the road trip, at least.
