Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from thrilling win over New York Knicks

Pat Connaughton comes up clutch for the Milwaukee Bucks on a career night in the win over New York Knicks
On a night where Antetokounmpo struggled to put the ball in the hoop and Holiday could not find his stride inside the arc, it was Connaughton that stepped up for the Bucks. The guard checked in off the bench and delivered one of his best performances ever, if not the best, in a green uniform.
Connaughton finished with a team-high 23 points in the contest, shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Of course, practically all of that came from 3-point range, where he shot 7-of-13. Connaughton’s seven made triples are a new career-high for the 28-year-old as he continues shooting the lights out for Milwaukee on a nightly basis. Several of those 3-pointers could not have come at a better time as Connaughton nailed three of them within the final four minutes of the fourth quarter as the Knicks made their run to get it too close for comfort.
While Connaughton’s sweet shooting was the highlight of the night, his impact was felt all over the floor in other aspects. The 6-foot-5 guard was active on the glass as he grabbed nine boards, nearly finishing with a double-double. While Connaughton’s athleticism is well known and helps him grab those boards, one area that hardly gets any spotlight is his passing. It was on display in Wednesday’s win as he dished out five assists. All in all, he finished with a +13, the third-highest mark on the Bucks, and deservingly so. Connaughton continues to be an incredible role player for this Milwaukee squad.
Connaughton and the Bucks will be back in action this Friday against the Boston Celtics, and you can catch the action at 6:30 p.m. CST on ESPN.
